Ways to get involved
We have identified a number of jobs that are needed during every home training session or match. Below is some short inforamtion on each, but please speak to the Chair or any of the coaches if you want more details.
Coach: help to inspire the next generation! You don't need to be a rugby player to make a difference to our training; as a coach you will receive support from the team and can access RFU training courses. Our coaches get a free set of Minety RFC kit, a clubhouse bar discount, and entry to the international ticket ballot.
Coaches' Assistant: if you want to have a go at coaching but aren't feeling confident then why not volunteer to be an assistant? The coaches always appreciate an extra pair of hands to help run the sessions (plus it's warmer than watching from the touchline). Alternatively you could help to set up before a training session or clear away at the end.
Kitchen: in order to run the kitchen we need 1-2 volunteers per week, plus an extra one for matches. The kitchen opens at 10am, so ideally volunteers should arrive by 9:45. You will be making and serving hot drinks and bacon sandwiches. On match days we also cook hotdogs for the players. Hot drinks are free to kitchen helpers!
Kit shop: our kit shop opens from 9:45 - 10am, and then again after training/matches. This is a quick but essential role for those parents needing new or replacement kit, or who have left their child's gumshield at home.
Something else: there is lots that goes on behind the scenes at our club, so if you have a skill to offer or just some time then please get in touch. Whether you’re a whizz with numbers, a conscientious stock-taker, or just keen to help transport kit to away matches, there’s a role waiting for you!
Whether you want to volunteer now or just find out more, please sign up using the form on this page.
